If you have never met two band teachers who are married you are missing out! This sweet couple decked out the deck and had an intimate back yard wedding. They bought tons of string Christmas lights and really lit up this venue. They were able to keep costs low by serving more breakfast items in the food bar. What a great little idea!
Sometimes you can’t get all the great stuff in just a picture. Sometimes all that dance time doesn’t get captured. Well I think the dance time is great... so why not film it?
This was my first video that was just a surprise for the bride to add along side her pictures. She loved it. I loved it. I still love it. I watch it often. So why not? Why not do a little filming along side a little photographing.
One of my favorite parts about this wedding is the exciting color pop. The maid of honor wore a neon pink dress and it was awesome! This beautiful bride and groom decided to a first look to ease the tension of getting all the pictures done in a timely manner. They were more concerned for it to be relaxed and smooth. A first look before the ceremony accomplished all of this.
The bride chose very rich bold colors for this event. The contrasting colors along with the beautiful foliage made for some lovely images. When choosing colors go with pallets and theme that will match your venue. This will create cohesive looks through out.
What also tied the colors together was the time of day the ceremony started. A photographer will call this the “golden hour”. 1-2 hours before sunset it the ultimate time to take out door photos. If you are wanting to take photos after the ceremony don’t forget to have enough sunlight time to finish out the shoot.
The best part about my services... You receive a video of all the fun! I’m not like the average photog. There is a lot of down time during an 8-10 hour day together. What better way to fill that time then with a little video. Especially the dancing. Yeah I’m going to get some great photos of your family being crazy... But what’s better then a video to remember it. Just watch all the love.

During an engagement session don’t forget about the sparkle! Your hubby-to-be spent a good amount of time and cash picking out the right one, he will appreciate a sweet picture to showcase the ring.
Sometimes it’s easier to just stay in the same outfit, so changing to several different sceneries in one location creates a lot of visual variations without a lot of work. During this session we did a little bit of walking but choosing a location like a golf course will offer a variety of backgrounds.
For some brides it’s all about the details! This lovely lady is a Pinterest Queen, from designing her own flower arrangements down to her custom chalk board time-line.
To her the details, colors, mood and the food was the most important so she opted to do an intimate wedding with only 10 guests. With this short list she was able to have it at a beautiful venue and stay on a very nice budget.
Being yourself is the best way to go during a photoshoot of just yourself. If you have the need to throw out a silly face or maybe even the infamous duck face do it! It will help you relax so the real smiles come in.
Before your bridals look up some poses and practice them in the mirror. This will help you figure out what you feel comfortable doing and what’s the most comfortable feeling. So when you get to your shoot you will be a natural.
Sometimes it’s just better together. Just you and just them. It can always be that simple. For this couple it was just that, they wanted a beautiful venue, gorgeous attire and just each other. Well and of course an awesome hair stylist, a darling photographer and a quirky videographer.
Sometimes the best way to express yourself is through items that mean a lot to you. For this couple that’s exactly how they wanted to capture their engagements.
It could be a vintage car, a heirloom quilt or just about anything that means something extra special to you.
Wow your guests with the unexpected. This couple chose to use light and airy elements along side their industrial venue. The contrast of the two made for a beautiful reception.
One way to add a ton of visual interest on a budget is building your own pieces. This couple built a lot of their own props and furniture for their wedding. Which not only saved them some cash but also gave them a since of pride in their craftsmanship.
Sometimes you want to just feel pretty, in a big gorgeous room, with pink walls and soft lighting. Kick your feet up on the most gorgeous furniture you have ever seen. Let’s get sophisticated!
A bridal session allows you to work out the kinks you might have in attire, hair, makeup or even the bouquets. When booking appointments for these ask the artists if they are willing to do a sample session so you won’t have to pay full price twice.
How do some couples look so flawless while taking engagements? An no these kiddos aren’t models. They just really love each other and they flirt. I mean like really flirt. Tickle each other, touch noses, played tag. Seriously adorable.
How to loosen up before a shoot? Well if ya’ll are stiff, don’t be surprised if I ask you to do jump and jacks or have a biggest muscle contest. I will get your real smiles out. I promise.
One thing I love about my job is getting to do several type of work. Not only do I get to create still frame art for couples but producing video is so much fun and a different outlet for my creative side.
